Item Description
This group of 15 pieces spans the years 1949 through 1984. The smallest piece is one of the medals at 1" and the largest is a 2.25" memorial button. The lot includes, left to right/top to bottom, a golden jubilee medal from Truman, Minnesota with his portrait from 1949. Copper luster with just a few tiny tarnish marks. Second is brass medal issued to "Truman Foundation Charter Member." Front and back each include image of a "Missouri-Good Luck-Mule Shoe." Mint luster. The third medal is from his 1984 centennial and reverse pictures his home as an historic site. Fourth is a Truman portrait medal showing his years in office as 1945-1953 while reverse has brief biography that includes use of atomic bomb, United Nation Charter, troops sent to Korea and his famous motto "The Buck Stops Here." The first button is from a presidential set (see item #197) while the next 7 buttons are from the year of his death in 1972. The group concludes with 3 similar but yet different cardboard milk bottle caps. Exc. to Mint condition.
