Auction #197 - Part II
Item numbers 992 through 2667 in auction 197
Item Description
3.5x5x10" tall tin litho toy. Copyright/patent 1921. By the Ferdinand Strauss Corporation as marked on the bottom. Base is designed like a stable. The Jazzbo Jim figure attaches to the roof by a metal rod. Toy works and the figure which is depicted playing a banjo moves up and down and jointed legs also move about as if he is dancing. Base features great lithography with images on all sides of black adults and children playing instruments, singing, dancing, etc. plus images of farm animals including a donkey. Lt. wear to base and figure with scattered paint nicks. More moderate wear on knee joints of figure. Overall Fine.
