Item Description
3.25x4.75x2" tall base holds 8" figure all painted tin and tin litho. Total height when operating the toy is 10" tall. By "C.E. Carter Co. Mechanical Toy Factory Erie, P.A." 1920s. Toy works and when wound Pan-Gee revolves and moves about as he dances vigorously. Sides of platform have "Carters Toys" logo and base has complete text that we quoted at the beginning of this description with additional text of "Sales Office - 200 5th Avenue. New York." Base has simulated woodgrain litho top. Has light wear to top and sides in the form of scattered paint nicks, mostly evident around the corners and lower rim of base. Pan-Gee figure has areas of missing paint along the sides of both necks where it was creased during manufacture. Also, wear is evident underneath both arms where they move back and forth. Legs and feet have just a few scattered paint nicks. Toy is Fine overall. One of the scarcer of the wind-up dancing toys made in the 20s and 30s.
