Auction #197 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 991 in auction 197
Item Description
This 2-1/8" popular and scarce button shows Goldwater's head superimposed over atomic mushroom cloud with the Alfred E. Newman slogan below. As on most examples, center right has very tiny raised bump caused by the bar pin on the reverse. In reflected light, there is a very slight vertical air streak but not apparent at all under normal viewing. Most of the silver flashing is off the metal reverse but no rust and the celluloid remains totally clean and with perfect centering. Listed as Hake #2125 with 2004 revised value of $300; however, a much in demand button and our last 2 have ended in the $500 range.
