This anti-war group was formed in The Netherlands in 1921 and quickly had members and affiliates throughout the world. In 1923, four individuals founded the organization in the United States. The group was extremely active in the U.S. during the 1930s and they attempted to rescue people from persecution by Franco and under the Nazis, in particular the plight of Spanish orphans and children separated from their parents.
