Auction #197 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 991 in auction 197
Item Description
Group of eight, each 7/8" and c. 1898. Includes rare lapel stud showing bicycle racers on the start line with text "H.F. Holmes Photographer/The Start Syracuse, N.Y." Only the second we've seen of this and it is clean and displays Mint. The second lapel stud pictures "Eddie Bald/Barnes White Flyer." Essentially Mint. The next are 6 pinbacks, all with W&H backpapers. The group is lead off by another picturing "Eddie Bald," this time with title "Cyclist, Champion 1896." The next four read "Cyclist" and are for Thomas Cooper, Johnson, Sanger and F.T. Titus. The last is captioned "Champion Cyclist" and pictures A.A. Zimmerman. Very faint 1/16" age line on the rim of this but the group still displays essentially Mint. Scarce.
