Item Description
2-1/8" tall well-made brass badge. We don't know who Major Davies was but the Volunteers of America remains in existence as a national, non-profit, faith-based organization dedicated to human services programs including housing and health care. The group has helped over 2 million people since its start in 1896. From the construction of this badge, we would date the piece as 1930s or possibly earlier. Tiny traces of black off the lettering but still displays Exc. Only example we've seen.
