Item Description
The toothpick boxes with complete contents are 3" long. Two are by "Forster." Both are titled "World's Fair Hors d' Oeurve Picks." One has open window showing brightly colored wooden toothpicks. Second box is identical. Third box holds round World's Fair polished wood toothpicks. These are not colored. This box has a little tear where it was once sealed in the front edge and the other 2 have just a little light tanning to the cardboard. The sugar cubes are each 1-3/16" long. Two of these show the Trylon and Perisphere in blue. One has reverse advertising for Ballentine Inn and the other for New York, New Haven and Hartford railroad. The latter is somewhat browned on the wrapper. There are a pair of sugar cubes for "The Turf/Trylon Cafe" showing jockey on horseback. Next is one for "The Brass Rail Operating Four Restaurants On The Fairgrounds." Underside of this has inked date from 1940. Last is block showing New York skyline with underside logo of "F.W. Woolworth Co." Light wear on the wrapper with tiny flake off one corner. Side reads "Visit New York World's Fair 1939." In all, 9 items that surprisingly have been preserved.
