Item Description
1-1/8" tall inscribed with the words "Loyal Legion." This group was a patriotic order organized April 15, 1865 by officers of the Army, Navy and Marine Corps who "Had Aided In Maintaining The Honor, Integrity And Supremacy Of The National Movement." Their purpose was to preserve the memories and associations of war waged in defense of the Republic. Reverse of the badge has soldered-on original pin of the style c. 1890s. The lettering may once have been accented in black but if so, this is now gone. Still displays cleanly. Only example we've ever offered.
