Item Description
10x14" cardboard. 1930s. Text reads "Free While They Last Mickey Mouse Or Donald Duck Beetleware Cereal Bowls When You Buy One Package Each Post's Bran Flakes/Grape-Nuts Flakes." Bottom margin text to "Mr. Grocer" notes how this sign was to fit in the back of a countertop display. Sign's plain cardboard back was used as a canvas with painted western scene. The area on front where price was to be filled in instead has inked text noting the painting's artists. Front has moderate scattered aging with a number of long crease lines. Few tiny margin pin holes. Overall still displayable, VG and Rare. We have only seen one other sign and one complete display in our 42 years. From the Michael J. Stern Collection.
