Item Description
6.5" long by 4.75" tall tin litho carriage contains celluloid heads of a baby and dog, both with fabric collars. By Sankei, Japan, 1950s. Box lid has colorful illustrations on top and sides, few small creases and .5" tear on one corner side. Still displays VF. Carriage has a retractable and reverseable cover. Interesting illustrations appear on each side of carriage. One side depicts girl being carried in a blanket by 3 birds while a fourth bird carries a basket of flowers and in the bkg. is a star with a face. The other side depicts toy elephant and horse, castle, other buildings and a tower. Toy has working friction mechanism and when activated both celluloid heads rock back and forth and dog barking sound is produced. Scattered lt. wear, a few tiny paint nicks and some paint wear where retractable cover goes up in the front and comes down in the back. Still displays Exc. Neat friction toy.
