Item Description
8.5x9x28" box contains 8x27.5" long by 8" tall at top of loops vacu-formed plastic and lithographed tin toy. Also includes a pair of 2.5" race cars with litho tin tops, plastic bases and metal wheels. Made in western Germany. 1960s. Colorful box includes illustrations on 2 sides of actual toy being played with by young boy and girl and on the other 2 sides beautiful illustration of night time midway scene and instructions in 6 languages including English. Box has a few tears on the ends, creases on end flap ears, bit of missing surface paper at 2 corners and 1" dent with a crease at one end as well. Despite these defects, box still displays Fine, tight and clean, with original insert. Graphic base with metal loops contains illustrations of attendees walking alongside ticket office and on other side interesting illustrations of inner workings of ride are depicted with motors and bank of gauges and dials with 3 workers. Also shown on this side are signs advertising Shell Gasoline and Continental Tires. Toy works and when flat lever is released race cars jet through the course around the 2 loops to return to a staging area where you release them by pushing an additional tab. Base and race cars have little or no wear. All are N. Mint.
