Item Description
Lot of 40, each 1.25x2.75". c. 1930s. Each features sepia-toned photo of star paired with illustration of an animal along with their names and studio name. Backs are blank. Cards in this lot have either 2 or 3 color varieties. Those with 2 varieties are Tom Mix/Tiger, Rin-Tin-Tin/Monkey, Hoot Gibson/Polar Bear, Buzz Barton/Fennec-Fox, Fred Humes/Rocky Mountain Goat, Jack Padjan/Weasel, Wm. Desmond/Chinchilla, Robert Frasier/Prong Horned Antelope. Those with 3 different color varieties are Charley (sic) Chaplin/Rhinocerous, Ken Maynard/Elend, Jack Holt/Raccoon, Will Rogers/Lynx, Glenn Tryon/Zebra, John Gilbert/Sheep, Lloyd Hamilton/Wild Boar, Lupino Lane/Moose. One Tom Mix card has corner tip wear, the other has faint moisture stain streak along right edge. Both VG. All others have slightest aging but overall lot remains bright and clean with sharp corners.
