Item Description
5.25x5.25" waxed paper. A series of 25 hunted animals card was marketed by Planters Nut & Chocolate Co. in this product called "Big Game Peanut Blocks." From 1933. The wrapper held both cards and confection. Center image is of Mr. Peanut holding rifle and riding atop an elephant as an agitated tiger stands in front of them. Text above this reads "1¢ Big Game Peanut Blocks." Additional candy and company text appears to right/left of center image. Side margins feature additional jungle animal images. Moderate scattered margin wear with small creases and a few tiny tears. Lower right corner has 1" tear with clear tape repair on reverse. Overall still clean and Fine. Extremely rare, few examples have ever been seen or offered for sale. John Neuner's 1995 non-sport wrapper guide lists this as one of the five rarest and most valuable wrappers. Great cross-over item for Planters Peanut collectors and non-sports gum card collectors. The only example we've offered in our 42 years.
