Item Description
20x25" wood frame holds wooden simulated rope inner rim of frame around 14x19.5" celluloid image of sailor w/cigarette pack below. c. early 1900s. Image of cigarette pack reads on side "John Player & Sons - This Label Is Issued By The Imperial Tobacco Co. - For Great Britain And Ireland Ltd." Celluloid image area is slightly domed as made. .25x.25" split at upper left corner, three 1/8x.25" areas of cello surface loss at sailor's hat only really visible in reflected light. Very lt. ripple along top edge barely noticeable. Sailor image reminiscent of Howard Chandler Christie images. Largest celluloid item we've seen. Very bold and impressive. Displays Exc. Colorful and detailed graphics.
