8x10.75" full color 24-page newsprint comic w/Dick Tracy, Orphan Annie, Terry and their comic character friends in specially done riddles, adventures, puzzles, games, etc., most w/either a Christmas or WWII theme. Book has 1/8" corner chip at lower right corner, back cover has small chip at upper right top margin edge from staple that held it inside folder. Exc. overall. Choice graphics, great color and design. Comes w/8.5x11" stiff paper folder w/green accent art and text and great graphics of famous Chicago Tribune comic strip characters including Dick Tracy and Terry promoting Sears giveaway comic. Back cover shows Tracy and 5 other poster designs. Folder advertises 24-page comic available for 2¢ w/expiration date of Oct. 21, 1943. Lt. cover dust soiling, most noticeable on back cover, staple at upper left w/tiny bit of paper from actual comic book removal. Fine/VF. Scarce. Only issued to Sears retailers. This is a file copy from the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and is accompanied by a signed letter to that effect from Gordon Gold.
