Item Description
7" tall on 2.25x2.75" base. No markings but likely c. 1930s. Of unknown origin. Solid and heavy ceramic figure w/glossy glaze. Bottom front edge of base, as made, has narrow sliver about .5" long where the ceramic material is recessed and thus leaves a small gap between the base and whatever surface it actually rests upon. This is as made and not damage, just mentioned for complete accuracy. While the piece could be "home-made," the addition of 3 large palm leaves on the reverse leads us to believe that this was a production item and not someone's one-of-a-kind project. Nice coloration. Exc. The only example we've seen in our 42 years.
