Item Description
65x75" c. early 1900s. Quilt depicts 7 different R. F. Outcault scenes including Buster and Tige making a resolution, playing w/glue and tacks, spilling ink and pretending to be good. Resolutions read "Resolved - That A Friend In Need Is Worth Two In The Bush And Still Waters Gather No Moss - Which Proves It. -Buster" and "Resolved - That Tige And I Are Going To Be Good Boys If We Get Spanked For It We Will Have Sleep If We Have To Sit Up All Night For It And Peace If We Must Fight For It. -Buster Brown." Buster's creator R. F. Outcault's facsimile signature appears alongside art. Lightly and evenly aged, quilt still displays VF.
