Item Description
15.25" tall stuffed plush Brownies doll, unmarked but c. early 1900s. Heavy aging w/obvious wear to covering. Doll is still structurally sound. VG. Comes w/15x20.5" cloth sheet w/cut-out patterns of front and back of Brownies to be made into dolls. Sheet has text "The 'Brownies' Drawn And Copyrighted Jan. 15, 1892." Sheet includes fronts and backs of 6 Brownies including John-Bull, Highlander, Canadian, Sailor (w/"Valiant" on cap brim), German and Chinaman. From a series of Brownie characters. Directions on sheet reads "Cut Out By Dotted Lines - Sew Up And Stuff With Cotton." Fold lines to fabric. Each doll has set of staple holes w/minor rust soiling from oxidation. Sheet is lightly aged but still displays VF.
