Item Description
9" long hand-painted tin litho revolver style clicker gun c. 1940s. Prototype from the Marx factory and comes w/"Sample - Louis Marx & Co." tag. Tag is unused and N. Mint. Extremely high quality prototype has very detailed hand-painted images w/much attention paid to grips, chamber, simulated screws. Nice full color Tracy portrait w/"Dick Tracy" name below bullet chamber and "Detective Model .38" text on barrel w/Famous Artists Syndicate Inc. licensing notation. Other side features completely different full color image of Tracy w/gun drawn and "Dick Tracy Model Detective Revolver" on barrel. Marx name/logo also appears on this side w/"Safe" safety action. This prototype is similar to an actual Dick Tracy clicker gun produced by Marx at a later date. See following #730. Moderate scattered paint nicks, mostly to edges. Clicker mechanism works and gun remains bright, glossy and Fine. Unique.
