6.75” tall lithographed tin toy of The Lone Ranger seated on back of rearing Silver. Lone Ranger holds wire lasso in hand over his head that spins when mechanism is activated. Lower arm is jointed by tiny tab into the shoulder to swing freely during operation. Front side has simulated streamer with text “The Lone Ranger – Hi-Yo Silver!” Back side has logo of Marx Toys and 1938 The Lone Ranger, Inc. copyright. Key wind action causes Silver to prance in circular fashion while Lone Ranger vigorously swings wire lasso. This toy was produced with Silver in either silver luster metal or white paint variety, this is silver luster metal version. Original wire lasso but with some minor bends. Noticeable luster loss to front of Silver’s legs, o/w typical scattered paint nicks and scratches. Glossy. Fine. Comes with original 3x5x8” box. Box is worn with creases and tears. VG. Rare boxed.
