Item Description
First is 6.5” tall tin litho toy with built-in key. By Yone of Japan. 1960s. Very nicely detailed depicting pirate with eye patch, peg leg, skull and crossbones on hat and holds a flintlock pistol in one hand and cutlass in the other. When wound, pirate moves forward, his leg and peg leg giving appearance of walking, his arms moving up and down as bell rings. Features bump-and-go action. Some minor scattered hairline paint scratches/nicks but still a bright and Exc. example for display. Comes with “Climbing Pirate” boxed string climbing toy by T.P.S. 1950s. Comes in original box with nicely illustrated lid. Top side panel of lid has 2x3” piece missing. Other box wear includes several small puncture marks on lid. Good/VG. 6” tall tin litho toy with fabric outfit is depicted wearing eye patch, has pistol and knife tucked into his belt, boots have skull and crossbone designs. Attached to string with pair of finger loops and pulling string taut causes the pirate to climb upward, relaxing string causes pirate to climb down. Pinpoint paint nicks, couple of small tan stains on scarf wrapped around head but still Exc.
