Item Description
Lot of 3 pieces in total including 2 signed by Walt, 1 with his full first name of “Walter” and the other “Walt.” First is 3x8.5” signed check dated Nov. 10, 1948. Check was for $350 to be paid to “Walt Disney Special Acct.” The check was drawn on Walter E. Disney’s account with the Vermont-Melbourne branch of Bank of America National Trust & Savings Association of Hollywood, California. There is a standard cancellation stamp and punch of multiple small holes, none of which come close to the check’s large bold blue fountain pen signature “Walter E. Disney.” Exc. Second item is 8.5x11” “Waiver” document from the directors of Walt Disney Incorporated, to waive the notice of a special meeting of the Board of Directors on June 20, 1953. The document is signed “Walt Disney” in blue ink and also contains the signatures of board members Lloyd Wright, William H. D. Cottrell, Nathan Winecoff and William J. Hyland. All signatures are bold and distinct. Tiniest trace of margin aging, staple holes at top left. Still displays Exc. Also included is a letter dated June 8, 1953 addressed to the Walt Disney Board of Directors from William J. Hyland, informing them of his decision to resign. Lt. handling wear, VF. An exceptional lot with 2 incredible examples of Walt’s signature, among the nicest we’ve offered in our 42 years. Comes with PSA/DNA LOA and Hake’s COA.
