Item Description
Lot of 4 items issued in the late 1930s by the English publication "Mickey Mouse Weekly." First is 8x10" letter from Mickey welcoming new member. Notes the enclosure of club card and badge. Nice letterhead art depicting Mickey as editor, Minnie typing, surrounding characters are Donald Duck, Clara Cluck, Horace and Clarabelle. Has ink stamp signature of Mickey. Scattered age spotting and handling wear w/three .5" tears along centerfold, one w/tape repair on reverse. Second item is 5x8" enrollment form. This shows the club badge and also has an image of Donald. This paper was to be returned to "Your Newsagent." Moderate scattered aging and handling wear. Third is the 3.25x4.75" membership card. Front has individual issue number of "89853," back features club "Promise." Front shows the badge, reverse pictures Mickey and Minnie. Signed in pencil, card has aging and creases. All 3 paper pieces are VG. Final item is the 1" dia. enameld badge. This version w/brass luster is marked on reverse "Roden/London." There is also a version w/Mickey's face in silver by a different company. Exc. All 4 club pieces are rarely found together.
