2-5/8x3.5x3-1/8” tall glazed china matchsafe w/English company & Chaplin marks on bottom has bw caricature image of Charlie Chaplin on each side with a few color accents. Front shows Chaplin in his famous character The Little Tramp with text “Charlie Salutes.” Reverse side shows Charlie in workman’s clothing as The Little Tramp holding mallet behind his back with text “Charlie Out For Revenge.” c. 1918. Some minor traces of aging but still glossy and Exc. An exceptional Chaplin item. Scarce.
