5-5/8x9-1/8x2.5” deep heavy cardboard box for “Winnie Winkle Wine Dipped Cigars.” Winnie Winkle graces top of lid in bw and in color on both underside and side panels of box. c. 1930s. Tax stamp on lid and front side panel. Winnie Winkle creator M.M. Branner name below bw image on lid. Moderate edge/corner tip wear. Box remains structurally sound and VG. Comes with 11.75x17.25” wood frame containing cardboard sign with duck breaking through paper reading “Duck In And Try One Of The New Winnie Winkle 5¢ Cigars. Cellophane Wrapped.” In addition to large duck image, there is full color Winnie Winkle portrait at bottom center. 2” heavy crease in upper right corner but as framed, sign displays VF/Exc.
