Item Description
11x14” thin artboard has India ink illustration with watercolors depicting Conan the Barbarian ravaging a bare-breasted Red Sonja, whose chainmail top and sword lay scattered off to the side. Specialty art done at a late 1970s comic book convention as this came along with other convention art including Wendi Pini Elfquest pieces dated 1979-1980. Not signed (as to be expected due to content) but we believe this piece to be by Alfredo Alcala, who was an artist known for his work on “The Savage Sword Of Conan” Curtis Magazine's (Marvel Comics) magazine-format comic book. Art has 1” tear along upper right margin with 1/8” chip missing. Lt. handling wear but all margin defects could be easily matted out for an Exc. display.
