Item Description
9.5x12.25” program has stiff embossed paper die-cut cover with leaf design in center revealing portrait of topless dancer. Cover opens to reveal full image of dancer in front of pink flower design bkg. Program contains 32 bw and full color pages with many women shown topless including Josephine Baker who is featured by herself on one full color page and 3 bw pages showing her dancing. Baker’s costumes include that of a farm boy, pearl and sequined costume with feather tail (full color) and is again shown in bw with a small image of her topless with pants and feathered hat. Back cover has caricature image of Baker dancing. Program has a few loose pages but is complete. Scattered handling wear with a few pinch creases to spine but as is, displays VF. Additional photos online. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
