Item Description
9.5x12.5” program has stiff embossed die-cut cover with feather design bordering window that reveals dancer in an elaborate bird costume. Cover opens to reveal full image of dancer. Program contains 32 bw and full color pages with many women shown topless and in elaborate costumes. Second page has bw ad for previous years Folies Bergere programs including programs featuring Josephine Baker. Some of the great content featured includes topless female jazz band, Russian-themed 2-page spread, stereotypical African native scene and great full page ad depicting man dressed as devil dancing with topless woman. Centerfold page loose at staple, o/w program is intact. Cover shows moderate handling wear with 2” split at top and is loose at top staple. VG with Fine/VF contents overall. From the Richard Merkin collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
