Item Description
16.75” tall sawdust-stuffed fabric doll with hard rubber head. Doll has composition shoes. Doll was made in the 1930s by Effanbee and has Effanbee’s 2.5” wide heart-shaped original tag about her arm that reads “I Am Olive Oyl Pop Eye’s Sweetheart An Effanbee Durable Doll.” Double-sided tag has repeat bw image of Olive Oyl on front and back with King Features Syndicate Inc. copyright. Faint crease at center. Exc. Doll has aging to dress and arms and scattered hairlines to face due to hardening of rubber head. Still displays VF. Rare and first we’ve seen in our 43 years.
