Underside of foot has “Popeye” tag with 1929 King Features Syndicate copyright and Dean’s Rag Book Co. Ld. company name. While tag has 1929 copyright, doll was made in the 1930s by famous English company that also produced Mickey and Minnie Mouse dolls.(See #1721). Comes complete with D-shaped "Dean’s Hygienic Dolls & Toys" tag around hand. Tag shows lt. wear but is o/w Exc. Doll shows lt. traces of wear to body and has a few tiny pinpoint paint flakes on head. VF overall. Unusual composition head, as Dean’s dolls are usually seen all plush/fabric.
