Item Description
2.25x3-7/8” stiff paper ticket for Aug., 1, 1941 concert at the Roanoke Auditorium in Roanoke, VA. Concert is an advance ticket that sold for 50¢ and is marked “For White Spectators.” Reverse of ticket has bw photo of Fats Waller, the legendary jazz pianist. Concert took place 2 years before his untimely death in 1943 at the age of 39. Inked number on ticket printed lightly from issue. Scattered aging and dust soiling with some scattered moisture staining along margins. Fine-. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
