Item Description
Lot of seven. 3.5x5.5”. Two feature “Teddy Tetzlaff” (AKA Terrible Teddy Tetzlaff due to his rough treatment of his vehicles). Tetzlaff competed in the first 4 Indianapolis 500s, finishing second in 1912. One of his cars is identified as a Fiat. Other photo shows “Texaco Motor Oils” sign on tent behind him. Both have Lt. aging. VF. Three are from the Italian racing circuit and presumed from a series as each is numbered (2, 4, 7) in lower left corner. All text on these are in Italian. Aging in the form of spotting. Fine. Another is unidentified man in sleek-looking convertible. American. Heavy spotting. VG. Last is a printed card reading “The Vanderbilt Cup Race/H.F. Grant in Victorious ALCO Car Passing Through
Hicksville.” Two men are in the driver’s seat. Postally cancelled 1910. Lt. wear. Fine. Great set of images. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
