Lot of 6 pieces from 1952. First is letter on Kellogg’s Company of Canada letterhead sent and signed by Kellogg’s advertising manager to business in New York. Letter reads “Thought You Would Be Interested In Seeing The Attached Post’s Bran Flakes Front Package Panel Featuring The Zoomerang Gun Sticker And The Hopalong Cassidy Trading Cards, Also A Sample Of The Trading Card And Newspaper Ad And Small Poster Advertising The Gun Premium.” All items mentioned are included in this lot along with a carbon copy of the letter. Letter and copy tanned with age, handling wear. Fine. Post’s Bran Flakes front box panel is 6.5x10” and features image of Hoppy plus inset ad for “Wild West Trading Card” as well as paste-over sticker with image of the gun (see item #2029) and text reading “Zoomerang Gun Offer Enclosed.” Margin wear as trimmed, long but light vertical crease. Fine. Sample card from the set is #30 and has staple holes. VG. The “Small Poster” noted in the letter text is actually a 5.5x5.5” order form which was to be a box insert. This and the clipped ad note the gun was available for 50¢ and one box top. Lt. aging and staple holes at one corner. Fine. A rare group of promotional material, first we’ve seen in our 43 years.
