Item Description
This button has some condition issues but is a rare jugate unlisted in Hake. Button has been flattened, particularly on the right side where there are tiny numerous scuffs along the extreme edge. The left half of the button has a few pinpoint indents in the celluloid although the vast majority of these don’t show unless caught in reflected light. There is some rim staining and this has darkened about 50% of the lettering of the names on the top edge. On the reverse, most of the backpaper is gone but enough remains to read the name of the Chicago firm “Geraghty.” While condition is just Good, button retains its gloss and both portraits are totally clean and clear. Without defects, the value of this button would easily approach $2,000 given its rarity.
