Item Description
This button was prominently featured in the APIC Keynoter publication in 2008 devoted to women suffrage related items. Terrell was an active member of the National American Women Suffrage Association and she was a charter member (one of only 2 black women) of the National Association For The Advancement Of Colored People (NAACP). She also helped integrate the American Association Of University Women and in 1920 she was president of Women’s Republican League. This 1.25” button has a 3/8” wide panel of air horizontally across its center but this just causes the slightest tonal variation in the off-white bkg. Button is o/w totally clean and glossy. There is no backpaper. Given the title “President,” we suspect this is from her 1920 office with the Women’s Republican League. Only example we’ve offered.
