Item Description
Interesting lot of 3 glossy photos 7x9” to 8x10” each complete with descriptive text attachments to reverse. First depicts Walt presenting a sketch for a Mickey Mouse gas mask to Colonel Fisher and Major General Porter. This item was produced but is extremely rare today (see English version item #1747). Back has “Published” date of Jan. 10, 1942. Handling creases, 1” tear at lower left. Front has notations for cropping of image. Second depicts Walt pointing at storyboards for the Donald Duck short “The New Spirit.” Dated 1942 with “Acme Newspictures Inc.” credit on reverse along with detailed text on the short. Scattered handling wear. Third is great image of Walt with Knickerbocker dolls of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Sleepy and Dopey. Walt wears mortarboard and gown and text on back includes “Walt In The Sacred Harvard Yard After The Hollywood Creator Of Animated Cartoons Has Received The Honorary Degree Of Master Of Arts At The Commencement.” “Published” date on back of June 25, 1938. Scattered handling wear and small tip off top right corner. Lot overall VG.
