Auction #199 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 972 in auction 199
Item Description
2.75” tall picturing supremely confident young sailor staring straight at the camera posed with his hands on his hips. American flag backdrop has color tinting and there is subtle fleshtone tinting on his skin areas. The item may originally once have been a pocket mirror although the open reverse has within it a machine-bent stiff brass pin fitting perfectly although designed so the point comes out the right side rather than the bottom. Cello surface is N. Mint and displays Mint. Very striking visually and the only example we’ve seen in this format.
