Auction #199 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 972 in auction 199
Item Description
An interesting group in black with many different accent colors. These begin with March, 1942, about 90 days after Pearl Harbor. On these the slogan is “Keep ‘Em Rolling” and the group name is “Steel Workers Organizing Committee.” Months are March, May, June, July. Next group of 5 from August through December 1942 carry the slogan “Remember Battan.” Group name is now “United Steel Workers of America.” Beginning with November 1942, the .75” litho button is reduced to 9/16”, apparently due to conservation efforts. The next group reads “Victory” and covers January, March, April, May and June 1943. A final button for September 1943 has the slogan “Check-Off.” Trivial dent on August, 1942 and tiny minor paint wear on just a couple. Four are VF and 11 are Exc. or better.
