Item Description
4x10.5x.75" deep original box contains four different dexterity puzzles, each 2.5x3.5x.5" deep. Lid reads "Four Game And Puzzle Assortment." c. 1930s. Box has moderate dust soiling but remains tight and VF. Each puzzle has tin frame w/glass cover. First is Graf Zeppelin w/playing surface depicting ocean between hangars in Lakehurst, N.J. and Friedrichshafen, Germany. Lakehurst corner has attached metal mooring mast barb for spearing the holed wood pellet representing the zeppelin. Second puzzle depicts black cat atop fence w/bats and crescent moon in the bkg. Has three metal rings to be placed on its tail tip. Third puzzle depicts inmates at an insane asylum w/sign on front fence reading "The Bughouse Ima Nutt Supt." Two inmates are depicted behind bars while four others run free after bugs trying to catch/kill them by means of a net, bow and arrow, mallot and gun. Object is to roll three ballbearings into a tunnel opening at top of path the bugs travel on. Fourth puzzle is titled "Bases Full" depicting baseball diamond w/players and has recessed areas at first, second and third bases for placement of balls. All are N. Mint. Nice set.
