Auction #199 - Part II
Item numbers 973 through 2378 in auction 199
Item Description
These pieces are listed in Larry White’s book on Cracker Jack give-aways as the series “E 3701-3709.” He shows 9 numbered items but one of these entries is in error so he actually lists 10. We have probable full set of 16 plus one duplicate. Each is a 1-5/8” embossed tin badge finished in bright gold luster. Reverse has bar pin. As we’ve never catalogued these before, we will do so here. First in the series has large letters “U.S.” with the word “Army” below. The other 15 different all include the phrase “U.S. Army” which we won’t repeat but which does appear on each item which features a design representative of the text. The other 15 are: Adjutant General’s Corps, Armor, Artillery, Chemical Corps, Engineers, Finance Corps, Infantry, Medical Corps, Military Police, Ordinance, Quartermaster, Signal Corps, Specialist, Transportation Corps and W.A.C. The duplicate in the group reads “U.S. Army/Armor.” These are all uncirculated examples in essentially Mint condition. Comes with Hake’s COA. c. mid-1950s.
