Item Description
7.75x11” folder has bw Joe Simon and Jack Kirby art depicting the Boy Commandos charging into battle with squadron of fighter planes flying overhead. ©1944 Detective Comics, Inc. This Ashcan cover only was used by DC Comics to secure the trademark for the title in Dec., 1944. The cover of this title was produced but this was never produced as a complete Ashcan comic. The cover art was eventually used on “Boy Commandos” #1 and was featured on 8 different Ashcan covers. An estimated 7 copies of this cover are known to exist. Cover has tanned with age and has some margin wear with a few small tears. VF. Rare.
