Item Description
5.5x8.5”. 220 pages. First US edition 1958. This book is an informal record of author’s experiences and observations during more than half a century of tattooing in England. Burchett was the world’s most famous tattooist. He tattooed The Great Omi (photo in book) and his royal clients included King Frederic IX of Denmark and King George V of England. There are scores of anecdotes and stories contained in this book, including curious situations in which the “King Of Tattooists” found himself. Many interesting black and white photos along with extensive text. Rare and desirable, especially with dust jacket. Jacket, encased in clear plastic sleeve, shows aging, bit of surface paper loss & 1" tear at top of spine. Fine. Book-Exc. Additional photos online. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
