Item Description
31x43.5” paper poster in superb condition and professionally linen mounted to 36x47.5”. Our translation is approximate. The top line seems to be a call to raise additional troops. It reads “Fifth Regiment Of The Popular Militia.” Additional text reads “4 Shock Battalions For The Defense Of Madrid-Women, Workers And Two Anti-Fascists” and “The 4 Battalions Handled The Machine Gun, The Rifle Machine Gun, The Mortar And The Dynamite.” Bottom right printer’s text reads “Graficas Reunidas, U.H.P. Madrid.” The only example we’ve ever seen of a Spanish Civil War poster. Also see buttons #401-402. From the Merkin Collection. Comes with Hake’s COA.
