Cover text includes “Dateline/January 1967, An Exclusive Live Recording.” Congressman Powell was first elected to the 79th congress on Nov. 7, 1944 from Harlem which is now the 18th Congressional District of New York state. He became Chairman of the Education and Labor Committee of the US House of Representatives in Jan., 1961. The year this was recorded (1966), Powell celebrated the completion of his fifth year as Chairman. Inside album is length bio and list of Congressional acts Powell was instrumental in passing. Also seen are photos of Powell with Kennedy, Johnson and other prominent politicians. The record consists of 6 speeches of Powell’s including: Keep The Faith, Baby/My Dear Colleagues/Handwriting On The Wall/Burn, Baby, Burn/Death Of Any Man/One Day.
