1x1-3/8” silver luster metal frame has four tiny prongs on each oval segment holding a glass oval with high relief portrait of each man which includes the name on a curved line at the bottom edge of the portrait. The silver luster frame has a bar pin on the reverse along with a stamped-in inscription “Pat. No. 1660976.” The side edges of each oval have slightest trace of what seems to be some peach-colored paint. Each portrait is remarkably detailed and presents similar to that of a finely carved cameo. Only example we know of for this extremely rare jugate.
