Item Description
7/8” with American Art Works backpaper c. 1930s or possibly earlier. Button shows a pair of woeful-looking young boys. Norman Barr became a pastor in 1897 at Olivet Presbyterian Church, then on Chicago’s near North side. Under his guidance, the church engaged in mammoth local missionary work which included a settlement house, medical dispensary and much more. Barr became well known as a pastor of the “Social Gospel” and retired in 1937. Tiny tan age on the backpaper but the cello is essentially Mint. Only example we’ve seen. Rare.
