Item Description
3.75x12x7” tall. c. late 1940s. Combination of polished diecast with reverse painted 1.25x8.5” glass insert. Designed for 2 light bulbs in lower portion of display. When illuminated, the reverse glass panel lights as well as the top portion is back-lighted giving the red clear plastic script letters “Schaefer” a soft glow. Bottom has two threaded brackets for attachment to top of back bar. Bottom of display at front has .75x8.25” curved shield to diffuse light downward below lighted display. Very impressive when lit. Small letters below red “Schaefer” lettering read “The F.&M. Schaefer Brewing Co., Brooklyn, N.Y.” Back left side has original metal switch. Works. Original cord. Remains of manufacturer sticker appears on back “Price Brothers.” Random chipping to red painted back of sign. Not visible when displayed. Back-light area slightly aged. Not offensive. Overall Fine. An impressive lighted display from the late 1940s era.
