Item Description
7x14”. Dated 1874. Unused label was intended for use on a half-crate end. These half-crates were used for shipping tobacco from the factory to wholesalers. Tiny text at lower left margin reads “Ent. According To Act Of Congress In The Year 1874 By Wm. Cameron & Bro. In The Office Of The Librarian Of Congress At Washington.” A magnificent illustration with Neptune riding shell being pulled by sea horses and flanked by bare-breasted mermaids. Very minor margin wear, noticeable under close inspection. Exc.
