String holder nicely depicts one of Popeye’s 4 nephews, miniature mischievous versions of himself. Aged with some wear to edges around eyes but VF overall. The only piece of merchandise we know of that was made featuring this character, at least one other nephew was produced as we sold a “Poopeye” string holder in Auction #193 for $1,683. The “Poopeye” string holder was very similar with only subtle differences including positioning of the nephew’s single tooth and hat tassels. We are picturing “Poopeye” image online below "Peepeye" to show the subtle differences but only "Peepeye" is being sold in this lot. Rare.
